Kathleen M. Dettorre

Our beloved mother, Kathleen Marie Dettorre, departed this world on June 19, 2020.
Kathy was born August 3, 1944, in Wheeling, WV, and raised in Follansbee, WV. She joined the U.S. Army after graduating from St. Anthony's High School. Kathy worked as a nurseás aid and a surgical technician before retiring. She devoted her life to caring for her family, and she was a loving and supportive friend.
Kathy's surviving family includes her sister, Helen Rhodes; brother, James Simmons; children, Rebecca Dettorre, Deborah and Nicholas Demitras, John and Jessica Dettorre, Mark Dettorre, and Donna Dettorre and Daniel Bilbrey; grandchildren, Katina and George Kalogeropoulos, Nicole and Ryan Hunter, Mark Jr., Skylar Gean, Gia, John T., and Jude; and great-grandchild, Annabelle Hunter.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Charles Simmons; mother, Ruth (Dotson) Simmons, husband of 30 years, John A. Dettorre; and brother, Charles Simmons.
Kathy will forever leave a void in the hearts of her loved ones, but her strength and love will forever sustain us.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, from 4-7 p.m., at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be held Wednesday, at 10 a.m., at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Tom Nau will celebrate. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be held Tuesday at 4 pm.
