Kathryn (Kay) Brown, 89, of Wintersville, passed away, Saturday May, 16 at home.
Kay was born April 7, 1937, in Steubenville a daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian McMinn Shanley. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Pat (Dominic) Fato.
Kay was a homemaker. She was married to Harold (Bo) Brown on July 17, 1958 at the First Methodist Church in Mingo.
She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Everyone loved her noodles, brownies and cookies.
Besides her husband Bo, she leaves three children — Harold (Bo) Brown of Mingo Jct., Susan (Ralph) Parissi of Steubenville, and David of Wintersville.
“Gram,” as she was lovingly called, also leaves seven grandchildren: Lisa (Michael) Gallagher, Nick (Jenna) Vogagis, Christopher (Tina) Vogagis, Robert Brown, Christopher (Danielle) Brown, Megan (Evan) Hopkins, and David Brown Jr.
She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren — Gillian Brown, Christopher "Boog" Vogagis, Ari Vogagis, Elias Vogagis, Connor Gallagher, Gemma Hopkins, Carlee Lash, Addy Lash, Josie Lash, and Anacelia Parissi.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A celebration of life immediately following.
Kay's family would like to thank the Carriage Inn of Steubenville and Valley Hospice for her wonderful care — especially Megan and Gwen from Valley Hospice, who in a short time, became like family.
