Kathryn Cole Obituary

Kathryn Cole, of Richmond, Ohio, passed away peacefully on the evening of April 10, 2025, at Weirton Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 18, 1949, in Gardner, Massachusetts.

Kathryn moved to Ohio in the early 1970s and went on to dedicate two decades of her life as a charge nurse at LaBelle Nursing Center, retiring in 2012. Known for her love of travel and thrift shopping, she had a passion for collecting pins and figurines that brought her joy over the years. Raised in the Catholic faith, Kathryn recently returned to the Church, a wish fulfilled with the loving support of her granddaughter. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, J.A. Leo and Sophie Moreau of Gardner, Massachusetts, as well as her brother, Dennis Moreau. Kathryn leaves her devoted husband of 37 years, Frank A. Cole of Richmond, Ohio; her children, Ronald D. Sandgren of Wintersville, Joyce L. Sandgren Lopresto of Steubenville, Bridget A. Cole Adams of Mingo Junction, Honey D. Cole Hosenfeld of Evanston, Indiana, and Douglas F. Cole of Mingo Junction. She is also survived by her brother, Leo Moreau of Gardner, Massachusetts. A proud grandmother, she leaves behind nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild who brought her immense pride and happiness.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Monday, April 14, from 3-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A Catholic funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am at the funeral home, Fr. Drake McAlister will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
