Kevin H. Smith

Kevin Harold Smith, 69, of Steubenville, OH passed away peacefully at Trinity West surrounded by family on July 5, 2024. Kevin was born on June 8, 1955 to the late Harold Howard SR and Dorothy Ann (Lucas) Smith. 

He was a devoted and loving husband, father and PopPop. He was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Peter’s Church. He was an avid football fan of Steubenville Big Red and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He worked at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel as a motor inspector and a paramedic for ASI and Pleasant Hill Fire Dept. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Dorothy Ann Smith and Denise Yvonne Rusnak. Three brothers Frank Smith, Michael Smith and Douglas Smith. 

He is survived by two sisters Barbara Ann (Rich) Stanko, Shirley Ann Smith and four brothers Darryl (Debbie) Smith, Sean Smith, Harold Smith Jr. and Jerry Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Kevin leaves behind to carry on his memory, his loving wife of 48 years, Carol Smith, his son Kevin (Dena) Smith of West Virginia, his daughter Carrie (Bill) Paynter of North Carolina and his two granddaughters Ella and Mia Paynter, who were the joys of his life. 

The family would like to thank the many care givers, nurses and doctors who have taken care of Kevin over the years.

Kevin’s wish was to be cremated with a private family service.
