Obituary

Kris Provenzano passed away at Trinity Medical Center on Thursday, August 17, 2023, surrounded by her family, after complications from stomach ulcer surgery.

She was born on July 3rd, 1951, on the way to the hospital to Raymond and Doris Riddile. She grew up in Burgettstown PA and graduated from Burgettstown Union High School in 1969. She worked at the Joseph Horne company in downtown Pittsburgh to save money to attend Ohio Valley School of Nursing. On a blind date, while she was attending nursing school, she met Fred, her husband of 47 years. They were married on May 15th, 1976 after her graduation. They lived in Steubenville where she was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She was a nurse at heart and spent her life caring for her patients. Whether at Ohio Valley Hospital ER, Tri-County Home Health, Trinity West, or her family, friends, and neighbors, she truly loved helping people. She was also a volunteer at the American Red Cross for several years and was always the nurse at special events around the area. However, her number one job was being a Mom to her two daughters, Ame and Sara, and a close second was being a Nana to her five wonderful grandchildren.

She was known for her green thumb and spending time in her beautiful garden where she loved watching her birds. An avid reader, she enjoyed spending the first Wednesday of the month with the ladies in her book club, especially Sara Malcolm who would also bring her to Bingo, which she loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Doris Riddile, her favorite aunt Ruth E. Myers, brother-in-law James (Jimmy) Provenzano, and sister-in-law Linda Provenzano. She is survived by her husband Ferruccio Provenzano, her daughters Amelia (Tim) Taggart and Sara (Scott) Lane, and her most adored grandchildren Elizabeth (Lizzy) and Daniel Taggart, and Scarlett, Arturo, and Vito Lane. Also survived by her brother Ned (Rebecca Bohn) Riddile, loving sister-in-law Pat Provenzano, brothers-in-law Benny Provenzano, Alfred (Barb) Provenzano, and Albert (Gail) Provenzano and many nieces and nephews.

We would like to especially thank our family medical team of Dr. Aaron Provenzano and Dr. Rhonda Travaglino Parda for all their help in this time of need.
