Lillian "Lil" Ashmead

Lillian “Lil” Ashmead, a lifelong resident of Steubenville, passed away peacefully August 6, 2020 at Carriage Inn. She was 95. Born February 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Achille and Emma DiDonato Pompa. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Hugo, William, Rudolph, and Alio Pompa, Sisters, Amelia (Harry) Costantini, and Concetta Pompa, and her son-in-law, James Vallone.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond A. Ashmead, her children, Judi Vallone, Gambrills, MD, Ray (Barb), and Dan (Karen) Ashmead of Steubenville. Grandchildren, Chris (Danielle), Steve (Jessica) of Maryland and Jennifer Vallone, Pittsburgh. Gregory Ashmead (fiancé Jillian Guzik), Sara (Andrew) Henry, Daniel Ashmead and Erik Ashmead of Steubenville. Great grandchildren, Christopher, Lillian, Wyatt, and James Vallone of Maryland, and Jameson and Carson Henry of Steubenville.

A funeral liturgy with Mass will be held Tuesday at 1:30 pm at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Tom Nau will celebrate. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
