Lydia “Lil” D. Cellini, 90, of Steubenville died Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Valley Hospice. She was born October 27, 1931 in Hudson, OH. She is the daughter of the late Henry and Viola Marcelli Cardelli. She is also preceded in death by her husband Albert Cellini, Sr.; son Charles Switzer; sister Gloria Mae Cardelli and granddaughter Erika Switzer.
Lil was retired from the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Credit Union where she was a loan manager for many years. She was a member of the former St. Pius the X Catholic Church and current member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Lil was also a member of the Italian American Culture Club. She was an avid fan of Notre Dame, Steelers and Catholic Central High School.
Surviving are one son Gary (Donna) Switzer of Steubenville; one brother Dario (Be Ann) Cardelli of Atlanta, GA; Nathan, Amy, Alena and Reena; three great grandchildren Lee, Braylon and Alexa; one nephew Robert Cardelli and one niece Tammy Cardelli Johnson both of GA.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4-7 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be held Tuesday at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be held Monday at 6:45 pm.
