Marcus G. "Hoch" Markakis

Marcus G. “Hoch” Markakis, 66, of Steubenville died Monday January 4, 2021 at Valley Hospice. He was born March 20, 1954 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late George and Virginia Chrysanthus Markakis.

Marcus was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, brick Department after 38 years of service.  

Surviving are his wife Karen Panella Markakis, whom he married September 12, 1982; one son, Marcus J. (Megan) Markakis of Pickerington; one daughter, Christina(Euthumn) Napier of Pittsburgh; one sister, Anitsa Manson of Steubenville; six grand children; Dominic, Max, Ava, Enzo Markakis, and Theodore and Tristan Napier.

Marcus was an avid Steeler and Ohio State football fan.

Calling hours are Sunday 2-5 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville and on Monday from 10 am until the time of services at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 300 South St. Steubenville, Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
