Margaret E. (Burchfield) Achhammer

Margaret E. (Burchfield) Achhammer, 103, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family and care givers. She is the daughter of the late Jim and Jennie Clifton Burchfield. She was born February 21, 1918 in Steubenville. She is preceded in death by her husband Russell; sister Mary Alice “Butch” Putnam; brother William “Bum” Burchfield and son-in-law Chester Wiley.

Surviving are her daughters Shirley (Karl) Myers and Judy Wiley. Grandsons David G. Myers of  Mechanicsburg, PA, Ted E. Wiley of Dublin, OH, Russell W. Wiley of Bloomingdale and Scott (Bernie) Wiley of Chester, WV. Great grandchildren Russell (Star) Wiley of Louisville, OH, Karly M.(Jake Ford) Wiley of New Philadelphia, Cole W. Wiley of Bloomingdale, Wyatt A. Wiley of Chester, WV, Jeremy (Alisha) Webb of Columbus. One brother James Burchfield of Cadiz and several nieces and nephews.

Margaret was the oldest member of Finley United Methodist Church and a member of the Finley Womens Missionary Circle. She was one of the ladies who started the Town and Country Ladies Golf Club at Bellview Park. She also belonged to the Cadiz Ladies Golf Club years ago. Margaret loved her Finley Church and being with her many friends. She loved to golf and be with her golfing friends. She was a loving Mom and made our childhood fun and happy and she made all of our friends welcome also. She was a loving Nan to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

We would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their care, concern and love for our Mom.

We cannot repay all the wonderful caregivers who loved her and treated her like she was their mother.

Private services were held by the family and burial was at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
