Margaret "Maggie" J. Perloski

Margaret “Maggie” Jane (Cronin) Perloski , 83, went to be with her Lord on October 2, 2020. Born on August 19, 1937, Maggie was the eldest child of the late Daniel and Fannie (Cappillo) Cronin, Sr.

Maggie was a devoted Christian, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend with a full, rich life. She worked as a nurse and librarian throughout her professional career. As an active member of the community, Maggie organized fundraisers and visited the elderly. Golf was her favorite pastime and she’d never let you forget about her hole-in-one.

With her bright blue eyes, infectious smile and quick wit, Maggie easily made friends wherever she went. She traveled extensively across North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand to embrace new cultures, cuisine and experiences.

Maggie will be deeply missed, but her legacy of compassion and adventure lives on in her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Cavanaugh; husband, Benjamin Perloski; and brother, Daniel Cronin, Jr.

Surviving are her three children: Joseph (Dona) Cavanaugh, Jr. (Richmond); Cathleen Howle (Wintersville); and Daniel Cavanaugh (Richmond); five grandchildren: Lauren (Todd) Barker; Ben (Ashley) Wilson; Jessica Howle; Emily Cavanaugh and Leah Cavanaugh; and her three great-grandsons: Evan Barker, Aidan Barker and Branlin Wilson.

Surviving siblings are James (Donna) Cronin, William (Terri Bova) Cronin, Mary Lou (Richard) Maple; Thelma Volsky; Ruth (Daniel) Webster; Doris Cusick; and Helen (Rick) Weekly.

The family would like to thank the staff at Gables Care Center for the companionship and compassion they provided Maggie over the last three years.

Visitation will be held Monday from 11 am until the time of services at 1 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Burial will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
