Mary E. "Liz" Caranna

Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Caranna, 82, of Dublin, OH died peacefully Friday, October 31, 2025. She was born October 6, 1943, in Steubenville, OH. She is the daughter of the late Anthony and Joanna Recinella. She is preceded in death by brother Joseph Recinella and son-in-law Stephen Marshall.

Liz was a 1961 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central and received her nursing degree from Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus. After working as a nurse in a clinical setting she started a family. She later returned as a nurse case manager for several health insurance companies. In addition to being a registered nurse, Liz held licenses in real estate and interior design.

Liz had a passion for the arts and played piano and organ. She also loved ballroom dancing and competed in many showcases in central Ohio. Liz was a great cook and had many creative interests.

She is survived by daughter Lisa (Jim) Marshall, son Charles (Jeannine) Caranna, Jr. and grandchildren Joseph Wood, Madeline (Will) Marshall and Natalie Marshall.  She is also survived by her sister Marilyn (Justin) Scarpone and nephews Michael, James, David and Brian Scarpone along with their spouses, children and grandchildren.

A private inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville, Ohio.
