Mary M. Layman

Mary M. Layman, 93, of Wintersville died Monday, March 28, 2022 at The Laurels of Steubenville. She was born January 2, 1929 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Diodato and Rose DiCesare Antonucci. She is also preceded in death by her husband Frank P. Layman; two brothers Albert and Anthony Antonucci; two infant sisters Lenore and Lydia Antonucci.

Mary was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and it’s CWC. She loved to volunteer in many projects there especially the Pierogi Project, Bingo Kitchen Crew and funeral luncheons. She was famous for her pies, especially her homemade apple pie and her bake sale selling techniques! Mary was a graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School class of 1946.

Surviving are one son Frankie (Elena) Layman of Marietta, OH; two daughters Mara Pinney of Greenock, PA and Lisa (Joe) Zamberlan of Steubenville; seven grandchildren Megan, Claire, Mark, Joey, Jesse, Xochitl, Nadine and nine great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Friday from 10 am until 12 pm. A funeral liturgy with Mass will follow at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
