Mary Jane Glatz, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Valley Hospice. Born on September 19, 1932, in College Park, MD, to the late Thomas and Viva Reihm, Mary lived a life marked by kindness and warm friendships. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Robert; two brothers and four sisters, and her two son in laws, Mark Elson and Mike LIsko.
As a dedicated homemaker and a charming salesperson for Rogers Jewelers, Mary touched the lives of all who knew her with her friendly demeanor and her willingness to give. She shared a beautiful marriage with her late husband, Robert Glatz, and together they raised a loving family. Mary Jane loved to play cards with her friends, play slot machines and bake cookies.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Ramon) Lopez of Baton Rouge, Debra Lisko of Canfield, Patti (Mike) Elson O’Kelley of Steubenville, and her sister, Margaret Horst. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren, Ramon (Anita) Lopez, Laura (Jeff Lukas) Lisko, Michael (Jessica) Lisko, Maria (Tony) Cobb, Paige (Katie Weaver) Lisko, Mark (Caren) Elson, Morgan (William) Larch and seven great-grandchildren, who will remember her as the embodiment of warmth and generosity.
The family would like to thank the care they received from Valley Hospice and her neighbors.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 3-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be held Friday at 10 am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial will be held at a later date.
