Matilda "Tillie" Lowell Obituary

Matilda “Tillie” Lowell, 100, of Steubenville passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years  Lloyd Lowell. Tillie was born to Pietro and Anna Cola on December 28, 1923. She was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters.

Tillie is survived by her daughter Christina (Jim) Blair of Wintersville; son Gary (Linda) Lowell of Bonita Springs, FL; four grandchildren Tonya (Joe) Cutrone, Tisha (Jay) Chmelovski, Matt (Audarsha) Lowell and Bart (Zenida) Lowell; six great grandchildren Shannon Polverini, Ashleigh (Kyle) Polverini, Cameron Cutrone, Brooklynn Cutrone, Tedi Delashmet and Roman Lowell.

Tillie was one of the first woman welders during WW2. She loved to dance, bowl and cook. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, American Legion Auxiliary Post 33 and a lifetime member of Jefferson Sportsman Club.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be held Tuesday at 10 am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
