Michael Renaud ‘Byrd’ Gilliam 69, of Washington, PA, formerly of Weirton, WV, passed away on June 17th, 2026 at Select Specialty UMPC Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on September 19th, 1956 in Cleveland, OH. He was a graduate of Weir High School class of 1975. He also worked at Weirton Steel, Pittsburgh Intl. Airport and All-Clad Metals.
Son of the late Dorothy Gilliam and grandson of the late Adell Jeter. He leaves behind a sister, Michele Gilliam of Cleveland, OH, and his loving wife of 39 years, Lenore Woods Gilliam. He is also survived by two devoted daughters and two sons; Marsha’l (Giften) Hines of Spartanburg, SC, Melissa Gilliam of Washington, PA, Michael Renaud Gilliam Jr. of Weirton, WV and Michael Ross Gilliam of Jacksonville, FL. Other surviving family includes grandson Memphis Gilliam of Washington, Pa, a nephew Arsenio Craft of Cleveland, OH and niece Tiffany (Dre) Edwards of Aubrey, TX. In addition to these named loved ones he leaves behind a list of family and friends that will miss him.
The service will be held Wednesday July 1st, 2026 9:30 am at Union Cemetery Chapel 1720 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville, OH with a repast to follow. Location to be shared at the service. Non-local families will stay at the Best Western Franciscan Square Inn and Suites Steubenville.
