Nick Kirlangitis Obituary

Nick J. Kirlangitis, 84, of Wintersville died Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at his home. He was born September 6, 1937 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late John and Dorothy Benos Kirlangitis. He is also preceded in death by brother in laws Gerald Bowman and Louis Craig; sister in law Janet Kirlangitis and the loving mother of his children Ruth Carson.

Nick was a proud member of the Golden Warriors Class of 1957 Championship Football Team and enjoyed being an active member of the boosters for many years and shared his talents with the many fundraisers and events to support the football program.  

Nick was not afraid to work hard, and he took immense pride in the trades that he learned throughout his life, from painting to stained glass creations. He was proud of his Greek Heritage and the ability to sustain a business as his father and uncle had in the community. He was self-employed having owned and operated businesses. His years and time within the carnival/amusement business were a happy time for him. He enjoyed traveling to  different areas and meeting new people.  

He lived his life the way he wanted doing things “His Way” and making friends along the way. He was enormously proud of his family. He loved sharing stories and making people laugh, his smile could light up a room.

Surviving are son J. Allan (Ginny) Kirlangitis of Uniontown, PA; daughter Karen (John) Manfredonia of Cordova, TN; brother John Kirlangitis of Steubenville; sisters Melody Bowman of Canton, OH and Carole Craig of Wintersville; grandchildren Krisi, Kara and Kali Kirlangitis; great grandchildren Kamryn Liggett, Evan Liggett and Kylar Brockway. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and his long time companion Debbie.

He passed away surrounded by the love of his family and friends, the family would like to thank Valley Hospice for the loving care they provided and many thanks and love to his care team, Carole, Amanda, and Debbie they were with him every day and shared a lot of laughs with him, he will be deeply missed by all that loved him.  

Calling hours will be Sunday from 1-4 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. There will also be visitation held Monday from 10 am until time of services at 11 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates. There will be a Trisagion service Sunday at 1:30 pm.
