Patricia Esculish Obituary

Patricia Anne Esculish, 93, of Wintersville, previously of Stewart Manor, New York, passed away on November 30, 2024. She was born on August 7, 1931, in Melrose, Massachusetts, to the late Thomas F. and Mary E. Fletcher. Patricia was a teacher in the Mineola Public School District for 32 years. She taught 1st and 2nd grade for most of those years and finished out as a Reading Specialist for the district, before her retirement in 1995. Teaching was her passion and she helped many students achieve success during her tenure as a educator.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Thomas (Eileen) Fletcher, and Robert (Amy) Fletcher, and two sisters, Betty (Thomas) Grogan and Joan (Frank) Chicosky. She was also recently preceded in death by her loving daughter, Diane Esculish, who passed away suddenly on September 2, 2024.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Barry) Gullen of Wintersville, with whom she has been residing with for over 5 years. She is survived by two granddaughters, Jamie (Ryan) Potter of Brownsburg, IN, and Jacquelyn Gullen of Westfield, IN; one grandson, Derrick (Amanda) Gullen of Norton, OH, and five great granddaughters, whom she adored, Cora, Braelyn, and Emori Gullen, and Amelia and Evelyn Potter. Pat is also survived by many special nieces and nephews who were always there when she needed them and she loved them very much.

Family and friends will be received for visitation on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 3 pm until 7pm at Park Chapels, 2175 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park, NY.  A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 9:30 am at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 35 Dartmouth St., Garden City, NY. Burial will follow at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY.
