Peter Marc Vasilaros, beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on December 11, 2024, in Daytona Beach, Florida, after a brief illness. Born on July 12, 1957, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Thomas and Katherine (Diniaco) Vasilaros, Peter lived a life full of love, family, and a passion for sports and community.
Peter was a proud graduate of Duquesne University. After completing his education, he returned to Steubenville to manage the family business, Divco. In 1998, after his father’s retirement, Peter relocated to Ormond Beach, Florida, to be near his late brother, Steven T. Vasilaros. In Florida, he worked in the flooring industry and as an administrative associate in his brother’s law practice.
An avid golfer and a proud member of the Riviera Club, Peter also had an unwavering love for sports, especially Pittsburgh’s teams. Known for his engaging sports commentary on social media, Peter’s wit and insight endeared him to friends and fellow enthusiasts. He dreamed of becoming a sports writer, blending his deep knowledge and storytelling ability.
Peter is survived by his niece, Nicole Vasilaros (John Connors); his grand-nephews, Christopher and Nicholas Connors; his cousins; and many dear friends who will forever remember his warmth, humor, and kind spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Katherine Vasilaros, and his brother, Steven T. Vasilaros.
Visitation will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 300 S. 4th Street, Steubenville, OH 43952, on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., followed by funeral services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held in the church fellowship hall after the services.
