Ralph Dear passed away June 25, 2022 at the age of 84. Ralph was born April 17,1938 in Follansbee, WV. He attended Steubenville Big Red. He then volunteered and was accepted into the United States Army. After boot camp he was stationed in Kansas and then deployed to Germany as an infantryman. While in the Army Ralph also served in the Honor Guard for President Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was also a professional boxer with the Army boxing team. He was honorably discharged at the end of his tour.
Upon Returning home, he married the love of his life Anna (Deffenbaugh) Dear. He then was employed at Weirton Steel Corporation as a mechanical engineer for over 30 years. He received many accolades for his hard work and dedication. After Retirement he spent his liberty enjoying dancing and music with his special friend Shirley Kirtley and playing euchre with many friends.
Ralph is preceded in death by his loving wife Anna C. Dear and their infant daughter Amy M. Dear.
He leaves behind two daughters Kimberly (Baxter) McGrew and, Heather Haysler; five grandchildren, Tyler (Kelsey) Westfall, Samantha (fiance Ryan Gatto) Westfall, Trenton (companion , Bethany Roberts) Sandy, Anna (fiance Braeden Martin) Haysler and Mahki Haysler; great grandchildren Cayden Ebb, Ava Ebb, Mason Westfall and Mylan Sandy; also many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and his many friends.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 3-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
