Ralphina "Rae" A. Ostrowsky

Ralphina “Rae” A. Ostrowsky, 98, of Wintersville died Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at her home. She was born May 6, 1922 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Alessio Mastroianni. She is also preceded in death by her husband Walter; three brothers Guido, Joseph and Carl Mastroianni; one sister Frances “Wave” Connors.

Rae was a long time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, it’s CWC and St. Francis Society. She retired from Kobacher Co. In 1984 and then went on to work at Reiners and Denmarks. Rae was also a six year active member of the Woman’s Club of Wintersville and the Wintersville Friendship Club.

Rae proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.   

Surviving are one son Stanley (Judy) Ostrowsky of Wintersville; one brother Angelo (Joanne) Mastroianni of Weirton; one sister Jennie Sferrella; two grandchildren John Ostrowsky and Beth Ann Leland; five great grandchildren Timothy, Nicole, Stephen, Mia, Arianna and one great great grandchild Ayvien D’Ambra.

Calling hours will be Friday from 1-5 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Fr. Nicholas Ward will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be Friday at 3:30 pm.

The funeral home politely asks visitors to not linger after paying their respects and to please observe social distancing. Masks are recommended.
