Raymond Earl “Choo” Haddon Jr. 70, of Steubenville, passed away on Tuesday, March 28th at Valley Hospice in Steubenville after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ray was born on March 29th, 1952 in Wheeling, WV the son of the late Raymond Earl Haddon Sr. and Erma “Tete” (Leoni) Haddon.

He attended Follansbee High School then enlisted in the United States Army where he served in Vietnam. After serving in the Army, Ray worked for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. until his retirement.

In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his brother, Terry Lee “Coke” Haddon and nephew, Christopher W. Haddon. Ray is survived by his three children, Jason (Vickie) Haddon of Weirton, Heather and Ryan Haddon of Wellsburg and his sister, Robin Haddon. Ray also leaves behind his four-legged kitties, Peggy Sue and Vivian whom he dearly loved.

Ray enjoyed golfing, going to concerts, blasting his favorite music and cleaning his beloved Ford Mustang; however, most of his life was spent on his two-wheeled Harley Davidson where he traveled all over the country with many good friends.

At Ray’s request, there will be no visitation.

Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

A heartfelt thank you from Ray’s family and friends would like to be extended to the staff of Valley Hospice for there care and compassion.  

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Motorcyclist Memorial Foundation in Hopedale, Ohio or the Hancock County Humane Foundation in New Cumberland, WV.
