Robert E. “Slim” Neal, 76, died in his home on Sunday, August 22, after a life fully lived. He was born July 8, 1945 in Steubenville, Ohio to Robert “Slim” Neal, Sr. and Mary Felsocy Neal. He is preceded in death by his sister Joanne Chmelovski and brother Michael Rotunda.
Bob was a 1963 graduate of Catholic Central High School and an Army Veteran. He retired from Weirton Steel Corporation and many will remember Bob as a talented musician and entertainer in the Court Street Band. Bob was a licensed pyrotechnician and his passion for fireworks could be witnessed throughout the Ohio Valley.
Bob loved golf and cooking but not nearly as much as he loved his dear friends and being a Great Pap Pap to his first great granddaughter, Eleanor Mary.
He is survived by his wife Jane (Brown) Neal, his son Robert (Kristy) Neal III, his daughter Pamela Andi (Garrett) Greenlee, six granddaughters Mindi (Andrew) Navarro, Sonni Duncan, McKinna Greenlee, Leanna Greenlee, Kelly Neal and Laura Neal and one great-granddaughter Eleanor Navarro.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 am at Starkdale Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
