Robin Lynn Lutz Darrow, 63, of Hilliard, Ohio died on Friday, April 12, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with Myelofibrosis, a rare cancer of the bone marrow.
Robin was born February 9, 1956, in Steubenville, OH to Ralph and Joan "Josie" Lutz.
After graduating high school in 1974, Robin moved to Columbus, Ohio and began her career in business. There, she met her now ex-husband, Michael Darrow, and had their daughter, Molly Elizabeth.
Over the years, Robin and her family lived all over the country; from California, to Texas, to Florida and back, but eventually, there was no place she wanted to be more than her hometown of Steubenville, OH.
After moving back to Steubenville, Robin pursued her dream of becoming a nurse and went back to school to get her degree. After completing her schooling, Robin began working at Weirton Medical Center, where she stayed for 12 years before moving to Hilliard, OH to be closer to her daughter, Molly and son-in-law, Ryan Hecht.
According to Robin, of all of the things she accomplished in her life, her greatest joys were raising Molly and meeting and loving her grandson, Hudson. Although Robin was taken far too soon, her memory will live on in them.
Robin was preceded in death by her mother, Joan âJosieã (Ellis) Lutz, who died when Robin was only 9; her father, Ralph Lutz; and her grandparents, Paul Ellis and Helen (Douds) Ellis. We can only imagine how happy Robin's mother Josie was to be reunited with her daughter after all these years.
Robin is survived by her daughter, Molly (Darrow) Hecht, son-in-law Ryan Hecht; grandson, Hudson Hecht; aunt, Bonnie (Ellis) Runkel; sisters, Gladys Jones-Bryan, and Kathy (Runkel) Cardiff; brothers, Ronnie Paul "RP" Runkel, and Robert Runkel; and her nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
There will be memorial visitation to honor Robin's life on Saturday, April 27 from 1 p.m. until time of services at 4 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Pastor Rick Dawson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Cancer Society.
