Ronald Snider, Sr. Obituary

Ronald E. "Deak" Snider, Sr. was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Trinity West. He was born to the late Benjamin and Laura Moran Snider on June 21, 1931 in Steubenville.

Known to family and friends as “Deak”, from 1950-1953 he was in US Army and wore his Korean War cap proudly. He was a member of the American Legion Post 557 in Wintersville.  Deak retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel in 1996 after 45 years of service. He worked in the open hearth and BOF and was known as a great cook. Deak’s favorite pastime was golf. He was a great golfer and Cadiz Country Club’s Grand Champion three times. Cadiz Country Club’s board made him an honorary lifetime member. He was also a member of Jefferson Sportsman Club and enjoyed hunting for deer and turkey.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Rose Bevilacqua Snider; his daughter Carole Carducci; infant sons, Anthony and Richard; infant daughter, Sharon; an infant brother; brothers Benjamin (Francis), Robert (Catherine), Charles (Jackie), and William (Delores); sister, Ruth (James) Fike; brother in law Greg “Moe” Bevilacqua, in laws; Patsy (Kathryn) Bevilacqua, Louis (Delores)Bevilacqua and James Bevilacqua, Mary (Robert)Brady and Carol (Wallace) Lash.  

Deak was a devoted friend and family man. There was nothing he would not do for any of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. Surviving are his son Ronald (Dana) Snider of Winterville; grandchildren Robyn (Mike) Scott, Melinda (Keith) Kaczmarek, Michael Snider, and Joseph (Dusti) Snider and great grand children Haylie Scott, Reese Scott, Mckenna Scott, Mason Kaczmarek, Juliana Snider, Brynley Snider, and Penelope Snider.  He is also survived by a dear friend Sharon Petrilla.

Calling hours will be held Thursday 5 to 7 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Additional visitation will be Friday from 9 am until time of services at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
