Obituary

RoseMary Adams  Passed into eternal life on May 3, 2023.  RoseMary Adams of Steubenville passed away from cancer on Wednesday at Valley Hospice. Her humble outlook always put others first in the home and in the community. She deeply loved her family and had a special devotion to the Catholic Faith and the Blessed Mother.

RoseMary grew up as the second youngest of nine children on her family’s farm in Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa and worked as a special education teacher. After college, she immersed herself in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, which she passionately loved and which nurtured her faith. It was at a prayer meeting that she met her future husband, Richard Adams, whom she married 46 years ago. RoseMary led a music ministry in a large, city-wide prayer group in Des Moines, thereby impacting thousands of people throughout central Iowa. Later, Richard and RoseMary relocated their family to Steubenville to seek support in passing on the faith to their children.

In Steubenville, RoseMary led the music ministry in a local parish for several years. She supported her husband in his formation and ministry in the diaconate in the Diocese of Steubenville. RoseMary encouraged others and tirelessly interceded for them. In a simple, non-assuming way, she loved and cared for those around her. She dedicated her life to her husband and raising their four daughters, creating a wonderful home for her family. She strived to serve the Lord her entire life.

Survivors include her husband, Deacon Richard Adams; daughters Rachel Smith, Michelle Adams, Laura Adams, and Angela Adams; grandchildren Clare Smith, Emily Smith, William Smith, Anne Smith, and Daniel Smith; siblings Elizabeth Thomann, Lenore (Kenneth) Seuferer, Leo Frueh, Melvin (Barbara) Frueh, Linda Wellmann; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Florence Frueh and three siblings, Ella Jean Bishop, Bernadine Volkman and Donald Frueh.

Calling hours will be on two days: Sunday 1-4 P.M. and Monday 3-6 P.M. at Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville.
