Ruth Ann Allaway

Ruth Ann Allaway, 71, of Follansbee, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024. Ruth Ann was born July 23, 1953 in Steubenville. She dedicated her life to caring for others, both in her professional career and her personal life.

Ruth Ann was a graduate of Wintersville High School Class of 1971. She  graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Liberty and spent over 40 years as a Nurse in Pediatrics.

Ruth Ann will be remembered for her loving and selfless nature. She was a source of strength and inspiration for everyone around her. She cherished time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Ruth Ann enjoyed spending time at Tappan Lake, boating and biking, and the simple pleasure of sending and receiving greeting cards.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, George Cecil and Alberta Betsy (Hutchison) Allaway.

She is survived by her life partner, David Snyder; son, Jacob Allaway; daughter, Sarah (Tad) Kowalski; grandchildren, Norah, John and William of Auburn NY; sister, Millie Cato of Mexico, MO.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 12 pm until time of services at 2 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Pastor Jason Elliott will officiate. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Ruth Ann’s life.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ruth Ann’s memory to St. Jude’s to honor her lifelong commitment to caring for children.

Ruth Ann’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.
