Those who loved him enjoyed his company, his humor, contagious laugh and love of Catholic Central and Notre Dame football. In his earlier years he was an excellent football player and continued to be a fan of the game for life. He taught us how to love, how to work and how to appreciate our Italian heritage. Sam was passionate about his family especially the love of his life, Gloria DiMeo. He often claimed love at first sight after seeing Gloria on the school bus and said that he was going to marry her, and he did! He was an advocate for education for himself and supported and encouraged all his children to seek higher education which they all did successfully.
