Sandra Johnson Obituary

Sandra L. Johnson, 88, of Wintersville died Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Bolger Country Club Manor. She was born February 4, 1937 in Steubenville. She is preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Mary (Boyd) Conn, her Sister Sharon Lynn Blackburn, brother in law, Bill Johnson, and her Husband Raymond H. Johnson whom she married on July 26, 1956, they were married over 50 years. They had 5 children: Keith (Sherry) Johnson of Vienna, WV, Michael (Marsha) Johnson of Steubenville, Scott Johnson of Wintersville, Beth Ann Williams (Keith) of Steubenville, John (Susie) Johnson of Tipp City, Ohio; 13 Grandchildren: MaeLynn (John) Lester, Kristin (Matt) Welch, Drs Ryan (Gina) Johnson, Sarah (Alex) Beardmore, Rachel (Steven) Churchel, Chad Johnson, Alissa (Kevin) Bailey, Jenna Johnson, Rachel (Alex) Cumpston, Amber Smith, Laci (Andrew) Volcheck, Michael (Narine) Mavromatis, LeeAnn (Mike) Lechnir; 22 Great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; Special Nieces and Nephews:  Chris (Connie) Blackburn, Todd ( Jenn) Blackburn, Peggy (Kevin) Craft, Marilyn (Brian) Haught, Brian (Gloria) Johnson, Bobby (Shelly) Johnson and A Beloved Cousin Jerry Kindsvatter.

Sandy, also known as Lee to others, graduated from Steubenville High School class of 1955. She remained on the reunion committee for decades which brought her great joy. Upon graduation, she worked for Ohio Bell as a telephone operator. Once her kids started school, she started working for Steubenville City Schools as a Para-Professional for more than 20 years. She worked most of those years at Roosevelt Elementary then completed her time at Harding Middle School. She was Beloved by the numerous students whose lives she touched forever.

She  belonged to a card club, All American Lanes bowling league,  she was her daughter’s Girl Scout Leader and a Die Hard Little league mom. The family lived most of their summers at the ballfields. She was also a Big Red fan of all sports. She was affiliated with First Westminster Presbyterian Church, Steubenville.

Many thanks to the staff of Country Club Manor and previously The Laurels for the special Care Provided to our mother. Also, to Valley Hospice who provided deeply appreciated overall comfort care.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Additional visitation will be held Thursday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m., Pastor Jason Elliott will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.
