Sharon L. Wright

Sharon L. Gilliam Wright (nee Arkley), 72, of 318 S. 4th Street, Steubenville, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Trinity Medical Center West from complications of a stroke. Sharon was born on December 26, 1952, in Steubenville, Ohio, the eldest child to Donna Arkley Holmes (nee Boyd) and William Arkley.

Later in life, Sharon  enjoyed cooking meals for her family and friends during holidays and special events. She also enjoyed watching game shows on the TV and going with her friend Becky to play an occasional game of slots.

Sharon is preceded in death by her mother, Donna Arkley Holmes; father, William Arkley; brother, Robert R. Arkley; husbands, Richard Gilliam, and Eugene Wright; and eldest daughter, Angela Gilliam Butler.

Surviving are her daughter, Brooke Hill; grandchildren, Deon Freeman, Nikita Pearson, Savannah Butler, and Cameron Jones; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Cindy (Frank) Waning of Wisconsin; sister, Tina Arkley Howell of Steubenville; four nieces & five nephews; numerous cousins; friends, Juanita Allen (Ne-Ne), and Rebecca Van Dyke (Becky); and her dog and companion, Ona.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 5th from 10 am until time of services at 1 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Burial will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Pastor Greg Kasler will officiate.
