Sophie M. Splenda

Sophie M. Splenda, 102, of Steubenville passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, at Trinity West Hospital. She was born September 20, 1918, in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Patsy and Carmella Scoriugi Splenda. She is also preceded in death by brothers, James, Emmett, Joseph and Chester Splenda; and sisters, Mary Paterra and Louise Micucci.

Sophie was a member of Triumph of the Cross Parish. She loved family gatherings and loved to participate in activities at the Country Club Manor where she resided. Sophie also helped raise her two nephews, Richard and Joseph Paterra after the passing of her sister, Mary.

She is survived by and dearly loved by many nieces and nephews and great/great great nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will follow at 1:00 pm at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
