Thomas Vecchione Obituary

Thomas Edward Vecchione, 64, of Steubenville went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Tom was born on June 8, 1960, to Ruth Ellen and Carl Vecchione in Steubenville.  After attending Wintersville High School, Tom went on to serve his country as part of the US Navy.

Tom relished spending time with close family and friends, and everyone enjoyed his quick smile and infectious laughter. His family was frequently amused by his inability to gauge his appetite when ordering at restaurants, which often resulted in a food free for all. His favorites were steak, fish sandwiches, fries, and strawberry shakes to go. He loved walking off those meals with a shopping trip to the local stores. Tom was a free spirit who could always be found hanging out in his favorite flannel and jeans, no matter the season. He was a diehard “Trekky” who never missed an opportunity to watch a Star Trek movie or TV episode. His life centered around his endless enjoyment of music (especially classic rock from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s), instilling that same appreciation in his family and friends.

Tom is preceded in joining the Lord by his mother and father, Ruth and Carl and nephew Joseph Dominic. He is survived by the following members of the Vecchione family: his sister, Terri Lynn, and brother, Carl Michael; niece, Sarah Michael, and nephew, Matthew Thomas.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 29, from 12 pm until time of services at 2 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Pastor Bill Westling will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) or the Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance (S&PAA), an organization the family feels strongly about.
