Tony Pasquarella Obituary

Tony Pasquarella, 71, of Canton, OH, passed away on August 15, 2024 surrounded by his family.

He was born in Steubenville to Olga and Joe Pasquarella, who owned Pasquarella’s Beverage Center for years downtown on Ninth Street where Tony often helped growing up. Tony attended Steubenville Catholic Central High School and Culver Military Academy in Indiana. He completed his college studies in Accounting at the College of Steubenville (Franciscan University), while playing on the football team.

Tony opened Pasquarella’s Pizza in 1979 on Fourth Street in downtown Steubenville until 1986. He then served as the Director of Environmental Health for 29 years with the City of Steubenville Health Department and for five years at the City of East Liverpool Health Department. One of his many hobbies was a side career as a photographer. You could find him on the football field, baseball diamond or at wrestling matches taking photos with camera equipment that rivaled ESPN. Devoted to the Pirates, Steelers, and all things Pittsburgh, Tony collected sports memorabilia.

Tony met Kathie while in college and have been married for 45 years. They have four children, Natalie (Jamin) Pasquarella Pastore, Valerie Pasquarella, Joe (Christine Seif) Pasquarella, and Nick Pasquarella. Grandchildren Jamin and Jada, Gabby and Izzy, Anthony and Victor will miss him on the fields and at many family gatherings. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Father and sister in law Alice Pasquarella. In addition to his children and grandchildren, surviving are his brother Michael and family, Anna (Dan) Pasquarella Piscina (Bertrand, Arthur, Dorothy), Rosa Pasquarella, Christina Pasquarella, Julia Pasquarella, and sister, Annette Pasquarella.

Tony was a member of Triumph of the Cross in Steubenville for 44 years, more recently Queen of Heaven in Green, OH. He was a member of the Steubenville Rifle & Pistol Club and Tri-State Environmental Health Association.

Calling hours will be held Monday from 3-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be held Tuesday at 10 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Matthew Gossett will celebrate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
