William Kenneth Tyson 79, of Wintersville, passed away peacefully at Valley Hospice on June 29, 2026. Bill was born on December 14, 1946, son to the late Mary Louise (Smith) Tyson and William Bennett Tyson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved son, James (Jimmy) David Kinemond.
Upon graduation from high school, Bill enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country. After completing his time in the military, Bill immediately began working for Weirton Steel Corp. retiring with 30 years of service. After is formal retirement, Bill worked at LaBelle News Agency for 15 years. He was an avid wood worker, an expert mechanic and craftsman of many talents. One of his very favorite pastimes was working in his home and garage on many improvement projects.
Bill and his wife, Sandra K. (Verhovec) Tyson would have celebrated their 40th anniversary of marriage on October 31, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Sandy (Verhovec) Tyson, daughter Kimberly (Geoffrey) Pentes, grandchildren; Christopher (Kaylee) Pentes, Ryan (Jordan) Pentes, and Megan Pentes. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Fray and nieces Toni, Shari and nephew Michael. He leaves behind many friends who are near and dear to his heart.
At the request of Bill, there will be no funeral service. Private cremation and burial to be held at Fort Steuben Burial in Wintersville.
