William "Bill" W. Kaufmann

William “Bill” Wilfred Kaufmann, 82, passed away on August 14, 2026, after a long fight with cancer. Born in Steubenville, Ohio, in 1943, Bill was a loyal friend and dedicated worker.

A 1962 Steubenville Catholic Central High School graduate and former football team manager, he was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians. Bill spent 35 years at Brandt Buick and was active in the Moose Lodges of Steubenville and Marietta.

In his final years, he lived with friends Chris and Ruth Smithberger, who cared for him deeply. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his parents William and Bessie Nailen Kaufmann, and siblings.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville.
