Obituary
William “Heavy” Hetherington Jr., 82, of Wintersville went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Jefferson Hospital in Pennsylvania. He was born July 1, 1941 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late William and Macelia Fallon Hetherington. He is also preceded in death by his wife Judy Hetherington.
Bill was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel where he worked for many years. He was Christian by faith and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are one son Scott (Shelley) of Mingo Jct.; one daughter Deana (Chris) Schiappa of Wintersville; one sister Beatrice Mumaw of Monroe, MI; sister in law Suzanne Porter; five grandchildren Lexie McClure (fiancé Brandon Julian) , Christopher & Carlo Schiappa; Grant & Alexander Weaver and one great grandchild Braden on the way.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-5 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Bvld., Steubenville. A funeral service will be held Friday at the funeral home at 10 am, Fr. Michael Gossett will officiate. Entombment will follow in Union Cemetery.
