Ingrid M Koenig

Ingrid Koenig, a long-time resident of Steubenville, met the Lord on September 14, 2016.
She was born to Hans and Mathilde Maier on August 4, 1944 in Reinsfeld Germany. In 1955, she emigrated to the U.S. 
Ingrid graduated from AC Jones High in Beeville Texas in 1962. She received a Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas in 1966. She went on to earn a Masters in Counseling from University of Dayton in 1991.
Predeceased by her loving husband of 34 years, Frederick L. Koenig, she is survived by her children: son, Francis (Amanda), daughter, Andrea (Daniel), and son, Michael.  Ingrid had one granddaughter, Olivia, whom she adored. 
She retired after 22 years from Jefferson Community College   (Eastern Gateway).  She loved to help others and volunteered at Charity Hospice.  An active member of Prime Time, and a 12-year member of StartingOver, she often contributed to both with poems, newsletters and more. She faithfully attended St. Peter Catholic Church for 48 years.
Calling hours are Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, where services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Fr. Tim Huffman will officiate and burial will be private.
