So sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. Even though time and distance separates many of us our past still ties us to LaBelle and Steubenville. My sympathy to his family. O

To the Mort family I send condolences. Joe and I had a rich history together growing up together on the hill and St Peter's School / Church. Football in the fall, basketball in the winter and of course baseball in the summer. I tried my best but Joe was a great baseball player. [ sometimes in the summer we would play 15+ days in a row]
After high school we took different paths and I did not get to see Joe much. A few years ago we spent the day together, we laughed an cried for what we had both missed and lost. So love the ones that mean something in your life and don't forget to tell them.............

To the Mort family, my condolences to all of you. Joe and I grew up on the Hill, went to kindergarten at Roosevelt followed by St. Pete's, little league with the Orioles, CCHS, Big Eight with the Loyola Rams, and later, many games of hearts at his house on Bellview. Joe was a good athlete, a passionate fan, a genuine character, and a good guy with a generous heart. Rest in peace Joe.
