Margaret Mary (Hagerty) Coen

Margaret Mary (Hagerty) Coen, 72, of Steubenville, OH, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Margaret was born on April 13, 1945, and raised in Mingo Junction, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late James B. and Marie (Herman) Hagerty. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceeded in death by her brother, James B. Hagerty Jr.; and her infant daughter, Lorraine. She is survived by her husband, Donald P. Coen; daughters Mary Beth (Charles) Morris of Robinson Township, PA and Brenda (Jim) Chartier of Weirton, WV; sons Darin (Jennifer) Coen of Elizabethtown, KY and David (Meghan) Coen of Steubenville, OH; sisters Eileen Moody of Mingo Junction, OH and Eleanor (Jim) Kennedy of Cincinnati, OH; brother Jerome (Janet) Hagerty of Steubenville, OH; sister-in-law Mary Ann Hagerty of Davenport, FL; and her many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret treasured her time with her thirteen grandchildren, and was the beloved grandmother of Emma, Eric, Elyse and Eian Chartier; Diana Morris; Ryan, Grant, Maggie and Claire Coen; and Gabe, Liam, Mary Eva and Audrey Coen. She was a member of Triumph of the Cross Parish and the Community of Godás Love, and was a Lady of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. She participated in Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, served on the Parish Council for St. Pius X Parish, and was involved in the Cursillo Movement. Margaret truly had a heart for the Lord. She was a faithful prayer warrior and servant to others. Visitation will be held at Mosti Funeral Home Sunset Chapel on Monday, July 17, from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, July 18, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with Vigil at 7:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, with Fr. Thomas Nau as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Steubenville Catholic Central High School or the Triumph of the Cross Building Fund.
