Walter "Wally" L. Gogul, Jr.

Walter Louis Gogul Jr.- "Wally", of Steubenville-much loved father, brother, grandfather, cousin, uncle, friend and loyal CCHS supporter passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2016 in Ocean City NJ at the age of 64.
  Wally was born on June 19th 1952 in Steubenville to his parents, Walter and Rose Habash Gogul. He graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School in 1970. He attended the University of Dayton and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1974.     
Wally is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law- Dr. Katie Rose & Frank Petrola of Chapel Hill, NC and Stephanie Marie & Daniel Blackburn and his grandson Jack Walter Blackburn of Chicago, IL. Wally is also survived by his sister Sheila (Stephen) Shulman of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
  Wally retired from Weirton Steel in 2015 where he worked for over 40 years. After retirement Wally moved to Ocean City, NJ where his family vacationed annually since he was a child. Wally enjoyed retirement life and could often be found on the boardwalk, bike riding, playing in his golfing league, and being the last person at the beach. 
Wally has been involved in Catholic Central sports for many years where he volunteered to work the scoreboard for JC and Central football and baseball games. He was also the coach of Junior Crusaders girls basketball for 7 years. He was a loving father, a great crusader fan, everyone favorite cousin, and a friend to many.
Calling hours are Tuesday September 6 at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel,4 -8 p.m. A funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  
A reception celebrating Wally's life will be held at Scaffidi's banquet room on Wednesday September 7 at 1 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
