Dorothy M. Porter

Dorothy M. Porter, 92, of Burlington, NC formerly of Steubenville, died Saturday September 17, 2016. 
She was born May 10, 1924 in Scottdale, PA. She is the daughter of the late Ebert and Ruth King Christner.
Dorothy is also preceded in death by her husband, Frank and one brother, Richard Christner.
 Dorothy worked for many years as a RN. She was Head Nurse of First Women's at Ohio Valley Hospital, a member of the Army Nurse Core and also worked for Dr. Goll and Dr. Hadibus.
 Surviving are one son, Robert (Ann) Porter of Gibsonville, NC and one daughter, Janet Weese of Groveport, OH, two sisters, Janet Mitchell of Cambridge, OH and Nancy (Ralph) Brem of Wexford, PA.
 Friends are invited on Saturday to Union Cemetery Chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. with burial to follow.
 The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the special care Dorothy was given by the staff at the Oaks of Alamance and Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell.
