Sheldon R. Hess

Sheldon R. Hess, 93, of Steubenville, died Monday, October 17, 2016, at Valley Hospice.
He was born March 28, 1923, in Dublin Mills, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late David Ray and Ora Park Hess.
Sheldon is also preceded in death by an infant brother and two sisters, Mary Grissinger and Ruth Gladfelter.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Lamantia Hess; four sons, David (Darlene) of Hudson, Ohio, Dr. Kevin (Andrea) of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Sheldon of Mentor, Ohio, and Patrick (Katie) of Columbus; one daughter, Tina (Willie) Woodall of Fairmont, Pennsylvania; one sister, Helen Jay Souders, of Three Springs, Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Sheldon was a retired pharmacist for Anile Pharmacy in Weirton and the former Gray Drug of Steubenville. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He loved gardening.
Calling hours are Thursday 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville.  A funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Burial will be at Dublin Mills Cemetery in Hustontown, Pennsylvania.
